We live in a part of Essex where waterways and rivers seem to be everywhere, and they provide many photographic opportunities. So, the Baddow Camera Club headed to Hullbridge, on the River Crouch, in the hope of photographing a beautiful sunset. When I arrived, the sky was cloudy, so prospects weren't looking too good. And, the tide was out so there wouldn't be too much water for nice reflections. So I went and took a closer look at the swans which were making quite a lot of noise as they squelched through the mud.
It may look like mud under foot, but this river bed was full of signs of life. Having spotted a jelly fish on the shingle, I suddenly saw they were everywhere and I wondered how many I had already trodden on? The shingle wasn't just stones but comprised of oysters and many other bivalve creatures. And on top of their shells were even more small creatures.
