The English love their gardens and garden centres nowadays not only sell seeds and plants, but also aim to provide an 'experience'! This might only be a fancy tearoom with homemade cakes, but, if your garden site is as large as that at Hyde Hall, then there are other options. So, we bought tickets for their 'Glow' event, and headed out on a cold but clear night, to walk around the gardens and enjoy the lighting displays amongst the vegetation. It was a really delightful experience with something new to see around every corner.
