Marine Biology.

On their first night, the students had been tasked with collecting living organisms from along the beach. A selection of these were taken and cleaned up by the EKOMAR staff so that the students could examine them better in daylight (see photo above). The natural habitats of the coastal areas of southern Johor have been challenged by massive building developments, so this is one of the main interests of the marine scientists here.

Before the students arrived, we had time to look around the labs, so these photos are just a reminder of some of the things we saw.
