Inle Lake is the second largest freshwater lake in Myanmar, located in Shan State surrounded by the Shan Hills. The people of the lake are the Intha (promounced Inda) people, and make a lively as fishermen, farmers, and now as part of the tourism business. Small communities specialise in the production of lotus fabric, silk weaving, the preparation of cheroots, and of sweets and savory snacks, and in the production of fine silverware.
