One of the interesting aspects of vlogging our travels around Malaysia is the suggestions we get from our followers. Lee Lee suggested we visit his cooking school when in Melaka, and since we were due to drive home from Lukut to Johor Bahru, we decided to make a break in Melaka and visit Lee and Teena.
They host a Cooking Class cum Dinner Party in their property just off Jonker Street in central Melaka (Orkid@29, Jalan Tukang Besi). Today it was just Lawrence and myself learning to cook, with a friend of their’s joining us to eat it.
We prepared Tomato Rice, Ayam Masak Merah (chicken in red sauce), and refreshing pickled salad. The red chicken was not quite as red as usual as I asked Teena to cut down on the pile of dried chillis about to go into this dish. This was a fun way to learn some Malay dishes as it was a hands-on experience and both Lee and Teena are interesting people to chat with.
