The Baya Weaver birds of Taman Merdeka (2nd June, 2020)

Last Friday I took my camera to the park to get some photos of the weaver birds I had been watching while doing my  morning exercise (see link here). Yesterday I noticed that the new small nest had grown, and its maker was very busy paying attention to it.

So today I took my camera and tripod to record his activity while I was exercising. And he very nearly failed to show up! So, after 40 minutes of videoing a nest, and took the equipment further down towards the lake to see if anything was happening at the other nests. I spotted another new green nest (below right photo) and then found a busy bird to video.

The resulting video is presented here for the record. I noticed several gardeners in the park today trimming the grass. Once they get to the far end of the park, then the birds will lose their building material, and these delightful additions to the park will have to fly off elsewhere. Such a shame because this end does not have to be formal, so they could easily let it have a wilder look and let the birds continue to give us something to admire.
