The Antong Coffee Factory is a little treasure, hidden around the back roads of Taiping. It is one of the few destinations to have clear functioning signposts to direct you around a complicated road system and into their carpark.
You can’t miss the aroma of roasting coffee from this the oldest coffee mill in Malaysia, neither can you miss the smoke everywhere. Once inside the shop area, there is a free sampling of several varieties of coffees and cookies. We came away with a bag of goodies and I loved their coffee beans.
If you are not so interested in coffee, then you might like the bit of history presented here instead. It is rumoured that Dr. Sun Yat-sen spent some time in this house after the Chinese revolution of 1911. The villa used to belong to Chen Cuifen, ‘The first revolution partner’ of Sun Yat-sen.

Just outside the carpark is an interesting mural promoting Taiping as a Heritage City.
