Our destination today (10th August 2020) was Kuala Lumpur and we had planned to visit the Batu Caves, just 30 minutes away. We have been there before but have no video material, so though this would be an ideal time. But sadly the temple area was closed, so instead we went back to Radiant Site B and the garden nursery area to take some more video footage for Hanis.

At the entrance to Site B there was a tree laden down with a fruit called ciku. Hanis tried using a blade on a long pole to harvest some fruit, but that wasn’t very successful. So her not-so-young workman simply climbed up the tree like a youngster! You might just be able to see his red hat at the top of the tree (in the photo below right). The fruit tastes a bit like a caramel peach and it all ended up in our breakfast smoothies.

We arrived at the Pullman Hotel and went across to the Pavillion shopping mall to get some shoes. Ordinarily we would shop for things like this in Singapore, as it is much closer to us than Kuala Lumpur, but the borders are closed so that is no longer an option. In the evening we had dinner with old friends from Hong Kong (Asad and Neeru Sultan). It was great to catch up with them and enjoy a home-cooked meal after being on the road for three weeks.
