On Thursday 8th April it was time to get help from the firemen and women of Johor Bahru. We drove to the main fire station in Skudai, handed over some food boxes, and then followed the firemen to Kampung Laut Batu, Skudai. We stopped at the local community centre from where the food aid would be collected by the villagers.

While everyone tried to maintain social distancing when ever possible, it just can't be done for group photos! Getting photos of these events is essential to provide the donors, in this case Young Living Essential Oils, with proof of money well spent.
I did notice that more people were wearing masks than last year, but it can be a difficult task to prevent crowding when hungry people see food, as you will see in the video. You might also notice that there are fewer photos in my blog than usual, and this is because I was trying to focus on making a video of the work of Chef on Wheels and the MRC. You can see in the photo below that I use a little Pocket Osmo 2 video camera. When away from the MRC base in Johor Bahru, I have the Osmo in one hand, my camera slung around my neck for the odd one-handed shots, and my iPhone in my trouser pocket so I can Pin the location on WhatsApp so I know where I have been! Then it’s a matter of following the action! Most of the time I do not know where I’m going, but that’s all part of the fun of following the MRC at work!

As we left this kampung, I saw a sight I had not expected to see and that was a herd of cows being moved along the same road. Luckily we had just enough time for me to get some video of these cows before they moved passed us, so do take a look in the final video (end Day 2).
