With this guidebook in hand, you can stroll around the historic centre of Johor Bahru and learn how the history of this city has shaped its streets. The walking tour starts from the Chinese Heritage Museum in Jalan Ibrahim, as this museum has a wealth of interesting material on Johor Bahru (closed on Mondays). The walking tour takes a couple of hours, longer if you stop off for a rest in the many cafes along the route.
Johor Bahru - A Walking History Tour book is 6x6 inches in size and 52 pages, and is easy to hold in your hand. Also included are suggested places to visit around Johor Bahru which require a car, and a potted history of Johor itself. Much of the information in this book has been covered in my various blogs on this website, but the book puts everything together in a more ordered fashion to help you learn more about this city.
Note that from June 2019, the Sultan Abu Bakar mosque is now open but currently non-Muslims are not allowed to look inside.
