Hokkaido, Japan (July 2018)

On 8th July 2018, Lawrence and I headed north to Tokyo to meet up with our friends for a road trip around Hokkaido. So, on 9th July we flew to Membatsu airport, picked up a hire car (Toyota Voxy) and set off on an adventure.

This holiday was booked through Inside Japan who helped prepare an itinerary to suit us all. I can thoroughly recommend this company as they were so helpful and responsive to our questions. We packed in so much during these 10 days, but could easily have spent longer exploring this almost forgotten part of Japan. Here we are at our first stop in the rain (Derek Pang, Anita Pang, Paule Harding, Helen Gray and Lawrence Gray). It tended to rain every other day, but was glorious when the sun came out. The rain only impacted on our hike up Mount Asahidake, but otherwise it was manageable.

I have presented our road trip here on a day to day basis, and there are further subdivisions to account for different activities/sights each day.
