There were no warning signs of crocodiles at this public beach. It was a lovely spot, with a cool sea breeze and delicious cendol stall.

My bowl of cendol with longan was composed of a mound of shaved ice, topped with longan fruits, and floating on top of a rich sea of gulu Melaka (palm sugar), coconut milk, and worm-like green rice flour jelly. Very sweet and refreshing on a hot Malaysian afternoon.

Although you could see Bintulu port and smokestacks in the far distance, most people were far more interested in having their photos taken!

Next it was off to the Kek Lapis Sarawak Warisan Jarah shop for our friends to stock up on the famous layer cake of Sarawak. And Lawrence concentrated on his phone, as usual!
