In my continuing search for locations and events relevant to the the history of the Old Johor Sultanate, I had the opportunity to video these silat performers at the Kota Johor Lama Museum. I have included this photo to put you in the mood of ancient Johor, a land of warriors. In February 2019 I was asked a write an article for The Expat magazine as they were doing a feature on Johor. So, with a little help from Lawrence, we put together the following article based on information gained during our recent exploration of Johor Lama, Muar and Melaka. The article can be read online in the March edition of the magazine.
