Yesterday we saw the heritage buildings around Padang Court in the best evening light, but today the skies were grey and the rain was an ever present threat. Still, we stopped for another look. The Zahir Mosque looks stunning in any weather. We looked around two sides of the building, as these were accessible from the road, and you can see how nearly identical it looks

Just around the rear side of the Zahir Mosque was this cream-coloured building; maybe the forefather of the current mosque?
And here is a different view of the Nobat Tower and the Clock Tower which I forgot to photograph yesterday.

Hanging across the road in front of the Zahir Mosque (Daral Aman Highway) are beautiful lights which look delightful at night. Especially nice are the bright red hibiscus flowers, which are the national flower of Malaysia.
Today we got a closer view of the Kedah State Art Gallery, at least from the outside. This brilliant white building is clearly loved as a backdrop for wedding photographers…
Becuase today was Hari Raya Haji, people were out for a stroll, dressed in their best clothes, and taking photos of each other. So I asked this family if I could take their photo and they happily oblidged.
Just as for Hari Raya celebrations, today families were seen wearing coordinated outfits….
